Winning in court is important — but actually getting paid is what matters most. At our firm, we understand that judgment enforcement can quickly become costly and frustrating. That’s why we focus on cost-effective recovery strategies not only after judgment but from the moment we open your file.

Collection Starts Before Judgment

Too often, enforcement is treated as an afterthought. We take a different approach. When we begin your case, we’re already thinking ahead to how any judgment will be collected.

That means:

  • Identifying assets early – We look for information about employment, banking relationships and property ownership during the litigation itself.

  • Using prejudgment remedies – Tools like freezing assets, injunctions, or security for costs can secure recovery before a final judgment is even granted.

  • Strategic pleadings and discovery – We frame questions and document requests with collection in mind, ensuring we have the information needed to enforce efficiently later.

By planning ahead, we avoid chasing empty judgments and improve the odds of real recovery.

Cost-Effective Enforcement Tools

When judgment is granted, we select the enforcement steps that offer the highest return at the lowest cost:

Writ of Execution (Land)

If the debtor owns property, registering a writ against in the enforcement jurisdiction the

property is located is a low-cost and highly effective. The writ acts like a lien and prevents sale or refinancing until you are paid.

Garnishment

Targeting wages or bank accounts through garnishment is a direct and efficient way to recover money.

Debtor Examinations (Used Strategically)

Examinations can be expensive, so we only use them when they will clearly uncover assets that justify the cost.

Other enforcement tools are available for higher-value collections, depending on the nature of the debt. These may include enforcing a mortgage or security agreement and realizing on the collateral, pursuing construction liens, exercising commercial landlord remedies, or, in certain cases, seeking the appointment of a receiver. Each situation is unique, and we would be pleased to discuss which options may be most effective for your case.

Avoiding Expensive Dead Ends

Some enforcement tools, such as sheriff’s sales of personal property or receiverships, can generate more costs than results. We guide clients away from these options unless they’re absolutely necessary and cost-justified.

Flexible, Transparent Fees

We know clients want value. That’s why we offer:

  • Fixed-fee options for specific enforcement steps

  • Hourly rates with specific budgets

  • Transparent estimates so you can budget with confidence

Our fee structures are designed to align with your goals: recover as much as possible while spending as little as necessary.

Our Commitment

From day one, our focus is on collection, not just litigation. By integrating enforcement planning at the start of a file, using prejudgment tools where available, and applying the most cost-effective enforcement strategies, we maximize your recovery and minimize wasted costs.

If you have a claim or judgment, contact us to discuss how our proactive, cost-effective approach can help you collect what you’re owed.
